April

The streams are full and the trout are waiting - this is the best time of the year to fulfill your dreams of catching that elusive brook trout. Fish the Greenbrier for trout and bass; the Elk, Cranberry, Cherry and Williams are all trout streams, with open fishing, fly fishing only and catch and release areas.
May

Come and see the Shay steam locomotives in their full grandeur - pulling a load of recently harvested trees to the sawmill. Photo-ops are there all 3 days. We provide a great hot full breakfast here at the Inn, in plenty time for you to get to Cass (a short 6 miles from our Inn).
The schedule is as follows:
Friday, May 18: Spruce - Multiple locomotive runbys in Cass in the morning, Freight and passenger trains to Spruce, Night photo session at the water tank.
Saturday, May 19: Bald Knob - Log train and passenger train go to Bald Knob, Multiple runbys throughout the day, Operations include Oats Run and the wye.
Evening includes Whistle blow, tours, and night photo session at the Cass depot.
Sunday, May 20: Whittaker Station and Camp One - Triple locomotive race in the morning light, Trains to Whittaker with multiple photo runbys.

Come and ride the old Shay steam locomotives that used to haul the timber off the mountain. Ride the same tracks up to the logging camps. And don't forget to bring your cameras! The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular! Also bring a light jacket or sweater, as it is always about 10 degrees cooler on the mountain than it is at our B & B.
